Evangelizing & Seeking Justice
"The earth is the Lord's" (Psalm 24:1)
For many, religion is reduced today to merely "being a good person." Our behavior and ethics are seemingly all that matters; we don't need to actually tell others about Jesus, right?
Not so for the believer of Christ! The Church (1) worships God, (2) serves the poor, and (3) evangelizes, according to Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI. "Man does not live by bread alone," Christ tells us (Matthew 4:4). We must indeed work for the material needs of our brothers and sisters, but income or possessions alone do not satisfy the human heart because we were meant for God and to have a life rich in meaning and purpose!
So yes, we must put our faith in action, for "faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead" (James 2:17). But we must also give worship to God, and tell others about him, making "disciples of all nations" (Matthew 28:19)!
